Freedom Flags – Relay for the Troops!

NYK Logistics ( Americas) in cooperation with the National Defense Transportation Association, and other corporate sponsors coordinated and served as lead sponsor of Freedom Flags – Relay for the Troops! A number of United States flags that have flown over various U.S. bases in Iraq and Afghanistan have been secured and in November were carried from Los Angeles to Washington, DC accompanied by a relay team of motorcycle escorts. The event generated media and public attention for the Wounded Warriors and The Walter Reed Society organization as well as encourage public donations to these organizations and the soldiers and families they serve. Corporate sponsorships and auctions of the flags at the end of their cross-country journey will generate additional contributions to the selected charitable organizations.
