LETTERS OF GRATITUDE |

Dear Walter Reed Society,
Please let me express my deepest gratitude for the financial assistance
you obtained for our family. Without the help from the Walter Reed
Society and your care and diligence in obtaining the funds so quickly we
would not have been able to pay our mortgage and my son's tuition. He
would have had to quit school, and I don't need to tell you how
devastating that would have been for us. My wife's deployment changed
our life as we've known it. Never in a million years did I imagine being
here in Washington , DC . Becky has always been such a strong person, my
"Wonder Woman" has
never asked for anything but has given so much. I did not hesitate to
come to her help when her doctors recommended it. Her deployment and
subsequent health problems have put a strain on our finances to say the
least. However, I honestly feel very fortunate to be able to be here
with my daughter and to be able to care for Becky. Additionally, to meet
wonderful people such as your self who are willing to help. It saddens
me that many other families are not as fortunate and I hope I can too
help others in the future. I'm going to be at Walter Reed for a
little while longer, so If there is anything I can do to assist you with
your endeavors please let me know, it would be my pleasure.
Sincerely M. G. May 15, 2007 |

Dear
Walter Reed Society,
We just wanted to thank you for helping us to pay our
mortgage while in the hospital a few months ago. My husband lost
both legs above the knees and has injuries to his hands, but
recuperation is coming along great and he is walking on prosthetics a
little every day. It was very hard to keep up with finances and
pretty much everything else while in the hospital, so we thank you for
helping us aout wehn we really need it. Sincerely Cxxxxx Family

To the
Members of the Walter Reed Society,
We would like to say thank you but that just doesn't seem
to be enough for all the help you gave to our family. Your
generous gift has helped so very much. Having our Son hurt in Iraq
was very hard to deal with. You all made it so much easier by
relieving so much of our financial worries. We were both able to
be here for the first few weeks and now I am here all the time and my
husband comes on the weekends. Again thank you from the bottom of
our hearts. Our Son has a long way to go but he is doing well.
Thank you. J. B. & C. |

Dear COL Southby,
On behalf of
the Military, Veteran and Family Assistance Foundation and all those who
benefit from its work, we would like to thank you for your donation of
$10,000.00 to sponsor 2 couples for the MVFA Foundation Retreat.
It is heartwarming to know that you share our concerns for our wounded
heroes and are willing to contribute your time and blessings with them.
Because of your unselfishness, you have provided both physical and
emotional encouragement to hundreds of our military as they recuperate.
Thank you for your time and support. It is through your giving that we
are able to minister to those who defend us so bravely. With
warmest regards, T.

To the Walter
Reed Society:
In appreciation for the 35 tickets that was bought for the Washington
Capitols hockey game on military appreciation night.
All 35 tickets were passed out within 10 minutes of them being
advertised within the Medical holding company of Walter Reed. The
night was a complete success and as an added bonus, the Fort Meade
Hockey Team was able to sell the tickets at an extremely reduced cost
to the Walter Reed Society. In addition to military appreciation
night, the Fort Meade Hockey team and the Fort Bragg Hockey team
played a scrimmage immediately following the Washington Capitols game,
in honor of all branches of the military that continue to serve our
nation at war.
I am deeply indebted to the Walter Reed Society for their open support
of this event. Without it, we would have not been able to offer this
to the wounded warriors currently seeking care here. I guess there is
just something about the word FREE that gets everyone's attention!
Myself, and the warriors who were able to get tickets had an
extremely good time. Between the first and second period a special
salute was given to the wounded warriors that were selected to stand
front and center. A standing ovation ensued! It was awesome.
Although none of 35 ticket holders were given the opportunity to
stand front and center, I know that those who were sitting in and
around our section were looking straight at us.
Thank you Walter Reed Society and a special thanks to SGM(R) Dan
Bullis for his commitment to serving the soldiers of Walter Reed.
Sincerely, SSG R. J. Fort Meade Hockey Team Player, #10 ..."Go
Caps!"

To
the Walter Reed Society,
My son and I can’t thank you enough for your generous financial help
during our time of need. You helped lighten my worries about meeting my
financial obligations. Mr. Bullis thank you for your patience and
gentleness with my son when we first sat down for the interview. Nick
and I found ourselves in a very humbling experience in asking for
financial help in order for me to continue helping my son with his
treatment at WRAMC. You treated us with dignity and kindness. May God
continue to Bless you all for your outreach to the soldiers and their
families.
Sincerely, SPC N. and F. F.Oct

Walter Reed Society,
I'd like to thank you all of the Walter Reed Society for what they
do… for our soldiers, their families and our Country. My son was shot in
the neck while serving in Iraq. With a grant from the Walter Reed
Society, I was able to pay some bills and extend my stay here. While I
appreciate what the Army has done, it was not enough to meet our needs
at home. Your help has been greatly appreciated! J. J. (Mother
of SPC N. R. L.) Feb 07 |

Dear Walter Reed
Society,
I don’t know what I would have done if it weren’t for your
organization. Words cannot express our gratitude for lessening a very
hart wrenching time in our lives. Much Love, Mr. and Mrs. D. Dec 06 |
